I cannot find a way to change the volume of system sounds, e.g. tapping app switch button, Facebook reaction bar, etc. Meaning these are really loud, even when all volume sliders are right down low.
I'd still like these sounds on, just much quieter.

What prompted me to post here is that I could be browsing everything quietly at night and decide to like a post on Facebook and the sound that produces could wake someone up. Likewise, if I am on Duolingo and I have everything silenced except quiet speech, then when it says the answer is correct it makes a hotel bell ding sound that is so loud it startles me. I would never have thought of this either if it were not for situations such as that

This is unbelievable that google doesn't have this control. Every smart phone I've had since my first HTC Diamond has had a "system volume" that could control this. I finally took the plunge, got a pixel, and exactly as described here I can't easily control system sounds. Call volume, check. Media volume, check. Ringer/notifications, check. Alarm volume, check. But no system sounds volume. It's infuriating that this phone can literally answer the phone for me and conduct a conversation but can't turn down a tap sound. Wow.

Sorry Matt, sounds really frustrating. The only thing to do is leave feedback. FInd an app in the play store that might do that, I don't know of one (try a search)

I've compiled a list of the posts with hundreds of Pixel 5 users reporting this issue.
PLEASE send feedback on your device (Settings > About phone > Send feedback about this device) and contact Google Support and send them these links for proof that it is a common issue. ALSO, please contact media about this so we can get this addressed. I've contacted The Verge, Android Central, Android Police, and 9 to 5 Google but haven't heard back yet. The more people who send feedback and contact Google and media, the more likely this will get fixed.
