How do I remove the search box from the bottom of the home screen in Android 11?

Hi Nicole,
There's no way to remove that search bar except using a third party launcher.
Please send feedback from Settings->About phone->Send feedback about this device to let the development team know your views on this.

Google and Apple both works well for China not for us. Above is link to other alternative. Just check it.

My phone has just updated to Android 11 and not only can I not remove the Google data-scraper (search box) from the home screen but any launcher I set as default gets unset each time I exit an app.
Way to go Google. Looks like it is time for me to get an iPhone.
