How do I remove the search box from the bottom of the home screen in Android 11?

I have not found anyway to do so. The new update makes my phone difficult to use because there are no tips or explanations on how to find anything. I cannot customize the homescreen to my needs.

Hi Nicole,

There's no way to remove that search bar except using a third party launcher.

Please send feedback from Settings->About phone->Send feedback about this device to let the development team know your views on this.

This is ridiculous!

My phone has just updated to Android 11 and not only can I not remove the Google data-scraper (search box) from the home screen but any launcher I set as default gets unset each time I exit an app.

Way to go Google. Looks like it is time for me to get an iPhone.
