The Google Pixel I bought on July 2017 now is totally unreliable: when it is approaching 30% of battery charge, the phone will shut down, and it wont start anymore. I need to charge it for 15 minutes before it could just start.
I am totally disappointed, i believe i bought the best phone ever, instead it is the MOST expensive phone i bought and it lasted less than any other phone I bought in the past.
Totally disappointed.

To wrap up my experience with Google Pixel phone along with Project Fi:
- spent more than 700USD for phone Google Pixel on July 2017;
- used Project Fi (Google Fi) service since July 2017, about 50USD each month, that is around 1000USD now in total
- on April 2019 the phone is unusable for battery problems, but the phone is already out of warranty and repairing cost 284USD, assessed by Google repairing service. A refurbished Google Pixel is sold for 120USD today;
- tried to use the Trade In service of Google, they give me for 800USD a Google Pixel 3 along with 84USD back. Not really appealing either;

Result:
- I need to buy a new phone after less than two year of usage of the Google Pixel phone;
- Google does not help the best customers;

Hi,
I have a Google pixel which is just over 2 years old but the more updates that have been installed, the worse the battery performance has become.
I've never had an issue with my phone shutting down until the April update for Android 9. Now my phone has shut down 3 times with over 20% left and yesterday it shut down with 47% showing and struggled to restart without charging.
Is there anyway the OS can be downgraded?

Adrian O'Connor I've been experiencing almost the same thing. Ever since the Android 9 update my phone has shut down before reaching 0% on the battery stats. First it started around 7% and none of the updates since have addressed the issue. My phone will shut down around 15%, and sometimes randomly will make it all the way to 3% before shutting off and have had it make it to 1% only a couple of times.

All of this started just before the Pixel 3 was announced, my phone was purchased refurbished January of 2018 with zero performance issues until the Android 9 update. Seriously considering switching to Apple for the first time at this point. Extremely not a fan of bugs being introduced on purpose to push people to the newer product. My battery still lasts just as long as it used to so I know it's not the battery dying. Homescreen lag started after the Android 9 update as well and has also not been addressed in any of the updates since.

I suggest we never purchase another Google pixel phone because of their sad design decision... Built-in batteries is bullshit... Repair shop wants to replace both screen and battery the screen cost more than the battery!!! I suppose if you had broken your screen already, then go for it and replace battery and broken screen....
