Pixel 8 screen turns green and flickers randomly

Bought a Google Pixel 8 for my daughter 4 months ago.  Today, after being in her book bag all day unused, the screen randomly turned green.  Bottom right corner was the brightest green and warm to the touch. After numerous reboots it finally went away but how do I prevent this from happening again? It was difficult to reboot when it was green cause the screen was unresponsive or flickering and you couldn't see what was on the screen. No damage to the phone prior to this happening. Everyone in my family has pixels... Really disappointing since it looks like this is a known issue...

You will need to do this within a country where the phone is officially sold and a warranty claim can only be made within the country of purchase.
