Bluetooth Headset microphone not working on Pixel 4 XL

After upgrading to the Pixel 4 XL from the Galaxy S8+, Bluetooth headsets microphones do not work in voice calls. This is the case for both a car Bluetooth system and Bose QC35s. I have attempted to reset the Bluetooth settings and reconnect the Bluetooth devices. This solves the issue for about one call then it no longer works.

Through Google searches I have seen that there are general Bluetooth connectivity issues on Android 10, but I have not found anything specifically related to this issue.

I'm having same issues with all Bluetooth microphones whether it be over ear headphones, in-ear Jabra buds, or even in car. Here's another thread on the issue.

So far I have been able to figure out that a phone restart will work but only last for a period of time. I'm also limiting what connected devices I have on my phone and trying to see if my Tesla is a problem, it's something that's come up in a couple of forums. So far microphone and Bluetooth have been functioning perfectly 4hrs now.

I had the same problem, Bluetooth headset pairing was completed, but there was still no media music. But when I turn off the call button on the Bluetooth headset, the music playback function temporarily returns to normal.

UPDATE - I fixed this issue by resetting wireless connections. A pain in the bum but it works. hopefully this will get fixed soon.

I am now having this issue as well, which started about two weeks ago. Bluetooth works for audio but I cannot use it for phone calls on my Pixel 4XL. Issue applies to both my Bose headphones and my car with Android auto. Voice recognition works with both.
