After Android 10 update, pop up notifications not working 2 Recommended Answers 142 Replies 297 Upvotes

Since updating to Android 10 on my Pixel 3 XL, pop up notifications work intermitently.
The biggest issue is when I receive a phone call while using the phone, pop up notification does not show up, forcing me to pull down the notification shade to see who is calling and to be able to answer, reject or screen the call.  This is very aggravating.

I've already performed a factory reset, but the issue still persists.

Anyone else experience issues with pop up notifications after Android 10 update?

I also have the same issue.  I performed a factory reset for the precise reason.  More frustratingly, this behavior is intermittent and occurs across many apps.  I've noticed it in Calendar, Telegram, Phone, and Messages.

I agree. I think anybody would be crazy not to reconsider before purchasing a Pixel 4 or any future phone from Google for that matter.

I bought a Pixel 3a about a month ago just so I could test the advertised Live Caption in Android 10. Guess what? Although being advertised as being included, Live Caption won't be available until December.

Android 10 introduces serious bugs. Things like incoming phone call notifications and pop-ups not working and the screen proximity sensor causing the display to go black at any time. There are many others that I have not encountered. I don't use the 3a for anything serious. My main phone uses Android 6.

The advertisements for Live Caption mentioned "any audio" from the phone. Later I have seen that Live Caption won't work with Duo or phone calls. Those two would be the two major uses. So much for "any audio".

It amazes me how people will casually recommend "Oh, do a factory reset". Don't they realize people actually use these phones and have data that will take hours and hours to restore and re-create if they do a reset?

Someone posted somewhere that the Pixel 4 has a smaller battery than the 3a – pretty much forcing an upgrade to the more expensive 4XL if you want anything usable.
