After updating to Android 10, Wi-Fi hotspot feature has no internet connectivity.

Yesterday, after updating to Android 10, everything went smoothly but my devices, when connected, show no internet access.  So far I've tried a Windows 10 laptop and another phone.  I have done a Network Setting Reset on my phone, but it did not help.  Any other ideas I could try?  This is the same across bluetooth, usb tether, and WiFi using Android 10 OS.  If I use pdanet's functionality it works, but my carrier kicks me off after about 20 minutes.  I confirmed with my provider I have tethering and hotspot on my account (AT&T).

For me, I can turn on the hotspot without a hotspot plan.

Why is this still broken?

My hotspot would allow other devices to connect, but there was no connection to the internet for the hotspot (while the phone itself had no problems accessing internet from the data / cell tower connection).  This was a Galaxy S9 phone, bring-your-own-phone to Consumer Cellular network after originally being Verizon.  Adding "DUN" to every APN Type possible, even though only one APN Type is highlighted, worked.

Adding DUN to only the CC data APN alone was not successful until also adding it to 2 other APNs that are not highlighted but still somehow used by Consumer Cellular, at least with bring-your-own-device.

In my case the hot spot feature broke once I noticed noise popup soliciting me to upgrade my android 9 to 10. Looks like an old iPhone trick. I don't want to upgrade.

There is a problem with the DHCP server.  My clients get IP addresses, but the gateway IP --which is *random* -- is not conveyed, so I have to check the IP of the android phone or do a network scan on the client to get the phone (hotspot)'s IP address, then manually configure my clients gateway to be this address

Damn I thought for the longest time I was the only one suffering with this problem, I have the exact same issue, but it wasnt caused by any updating. My hotspot used to work, then after I had the bill paid it stopped. Its been a day after that and my computer, when connected to the hotspot, will say it has internet access, but i cant connect to the internet. Troubleshooter does nothing, network resets for both pc and android does nothing, factory reset does nothing, making the hotspot open instead of secured does nothing, restarting/shutting down both devices does nothing, booting my android into safe mode does nothing, ive tried all except put it in rice. Ive tried tethering and its the same thing. My computer doesnt seem to support bluetooth so i cant do that.

After last two updates I lost the ability tp gain access of internet for tethered devices. Assumed it was updates. Tried all resets and renaming on my Galalaxy s10 phone. Sheesh. Frustrating.

Is there a fix for this yet? I use my phone's hotspot for work.

Same as everyone else after the last update my hotspot SSID broadcasts, but none of my devices get internet access after connecting.

Same problem with Samsung A51 + Android 10. No problem if I put the SIM card back into my LG running Android 8. Samsung tech support walked me through many resets. No luck. Blamed the ISP.

Facing Hotspot issues with Samsung A51 running in Android 10. Fire TV stick keeps losing connection with mobile. I need to switch off and on to make connection again  and again. It is very frustrating. I am not sure about other devices running on Android 10 as I didn't tried yet.
But when I switched to Samsung J8 running on Android 9 it works like charm.

factory reset did fix the issue for me (I wasted my time trying everything else before).

Worst of all, Samsung did download a new update without my consent and I was simply unable to reject it !

The problem came back immediately.

I will try to stay away from Samsung smartphones in the future, it seems like they are trying to push their broken tech very aggressively.
