Accidentally dropped Pixel in bath and now a portion of the top screen won't respond

The button to restart my device won't work when I tap it, and a select portions of the top part of the screen won't respond. I do want to try the rice thing, but I can't go out to the store to grab rice. If anyone has any other suggestions please help!

Hello Evelynn 3135,

Welcome to the Google Pixel Community forum.

I think the biggest mistake people make when their smartphone has been exposed to water is to immediately start putting their phone through its paces to make sure it's working OK.  Water and electricity don't mix well.  When a phone is exposed to water, it should be turned off and kept off until it is completely 100% dry.  Otherwise, electricity will follow along the moisture path and likely cause significant and permanent damage to internal components.
