Pixel 2XL fingerprint scanner stopped working out of the blue, what now? 1 Recommended Answer 3 Replies 1 Upvote

Yesterday my fingerprint scanner stopped working out of the blue,
I did not drop my Pixel 2 XL nor get it wet.
My Pixel itself seems not to recognize any activity from the fingerprint scanner and third party apps say I don't have the necessary hardware.
I have tried starting up in safe mode as well as factory resetting to no avail,
What do I do now?

Hey Lilybell2,

Update on the process,
Unfortunately there were no google repair shops in my country (The Netherlands) and getting a hold of google turned out to be quite difficult,
Luckily the third party seller from which I bought the phone here has given me the option of repair.
I suggest people having trouble with their phone that didn't buy their phone from the Google store do the same.

Thanks for your help!

Robert,

Thank you for the update.  I'm glad to hear your place of purchase has offered you a repair option.  That's good news indeed.

Best,
Lilybell2
