Pixel 2 XL touch screen dead spots near right edge

Does anyone else have this issue? The touchscreen works while sliding my finger along the edge works, but when touching it directly, it doesn't detect that touch along the edge. It seems like the touch screen is less responsive near the right edge of the screen. Left side of the screen seems a little better. But the right side is noticeable during normal use. Just wondering if this is a defect or not?

Here's my video of the issue: https://youtu.be/nMXJCqyi1R4

EDIT:
It looks like the issue has been fixed in the recent developer preview update. So it should (hopefully) be released in the final build of the upcoming 8.1 OTA update. Here's a video of the issue showing the before and after the update: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAs1NH_GNhY&feature=youtu.be&t=1m18s
EDIT #2:
The update may not fix all of the touchscreen issues according to rmagruder. Will have to test the final version to see if it's fully fixed or not.

My current Pixel 2 XL has that, but on the left side. Sometimes it takes a few seconds for it to register me touching, then it's fine, but then its back to not registering.

Yeah, same. I tested it with a painting app (SketchBook) and sliding my finger works and is detected along the edges. But when I try to click (draw a dot), then it only registers about 2mm from the screen's edge on average. Which doesn't seem like much, but it's noticeable during daily use. And I actually noticed it on both sides when using the drawing app. So I'm assuming it's software related to stop accidental touches, but if it affects the usability of the screen during normal use, then it's an issue.

Hi there,

Thanks for writing on the Pixel User Community.

I see that the screen on your Pixel 2 XL phones is experiencing dead spots at the edges. I recommend you try the steps to fix a screen that isn't working right.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,
Thompson

I've done all of those things and it's the same. Touches aren't responsive near the edges. Other people have the same issue as me so I know it's not an issue just with my phone. It also happened with the Pixel 2 XL phone I had before I RMA'd it for another issue.
Here's some other people's comments on it after I posted it on the GooglePixel subreddit on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/7aluk2/pixel_2_xl_touch_screen_dead_spots_near_right_edge/

Still not fixed, my first Pixel 2 XL has problem recognizing touches on the bottom right and my replacement refurb unit also have this issue. The only way i can get it to work is to drag from outside of the screen to the bottom right corner.

I am using SwiftKey and that is the key where I pull up the emojis.
