Important:
- This feature is only available on Pixel 8 and later.
- Only Bluetooth LE Audio accessories are supported.
Two or more people can now use their Bluetooth audio accessories from the same device. Rather than share a single pair of earbuds, each person can use their own.
Turn on and start sharing audio from your Pixel
- Connect a compatible pair of LE Audio headphones to your phone.
- Learn how to connect through Bluetooth on your Pixel phone.
- Make sure that it's active and you can hear audio in your headphones when you play audio on your phone.
- To find the 'Quick Settings' menu, from your homescreen, swipe down.
- Tap Bluetooth.
- At the bottom left, tap Share audio.
- You'll only find 'Share audio' when you have LE Audio headphones connected.
- If you already have another set of LE Audio headphones paired to this phone, you'll get a notification to share audio to that extra headphone.
- If you don't have any other LE Audio headphones paired yet, you'll get a notification to connect a new device or use QR code.
- To connect to a new device:
- Tap Pair new device.
- Pair another set of LE Audio headphones.
- To use a QR code:
- Use another LE Audio-capable Android phone that's already connected to LE Audio headphones to scan the QR code.
- To connect to a new device:
Join a broadcast
Important: Make sure that your Android device is connected to LE Audio headphones.
To join someone else's broadcast:
- Open your camera app.
- Scan the QR code shown from another device that has shared their audio.
- When the playlist button appears, tap it.
- When a dialogue window opens, to join the broadcast, tap Listen.
Adjust audio sharing settings
When you have multiple headphones connected, you can adjust audio sharing settings. You can either go to:
- Phone settings: Tap Connected devices
Connection preferences
Audio sharing.
- Quick Settings:
- From your home screen, swipe down.
- Tap and hold Bluetooth.
- At the bottom left, tap Sharing audio.
In the audio sharing settings, you can:
- Turn Share audio on or off.
- Adjust the volume of the connected LE Audio headphones individually.
- Select which headphones should be used for audio calls when you tap 'Call audio'.
- Check if audio sharing is working when you tap 'Play a test sound'. Everyone connected should hear the test sound on their headphones.
- Adjust your stream settings.
- Request the QR code from the person who created the stream.
