Learn more about eSIMs

Important: Phones in the US with the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL model don't use physical SIMs, and are eSIM-only.

An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM that lets you activate your mobile network, unlike a physical SIM card that you insert into your phone.

To transfer an eSIM to a Pixel:

Since eSIMs are embedded in the device, they're more secure and less damage-prone than physical SIM cards. You can have multiple eSIM profiles on the same phone, and switch between lines or manage international plans while travelling.

You can also activate your eSIM during device onboarding or at any time in your device settings, through a new eSIM or your current eSIM. Learn more about how to set up a new eSIM.

You may use two eSIM profiles at once if:

  • You have a Pixel 7 or later phone.
  • Your operator allows this feature.

Use for international travel

To avoid roaming charges, use a prepaid eSIM from international operators and activate it when you arrive at your destination.
