How can get I get xterm or uxterm to display at human-readable sizes on Pixelbook Linux Beta? 1 Recommended Answer 5 Replies 5 Upvotes

Changing .Xresources did not work. CTRL-+ does not work. ALT-CTRL-+ does not work.

For anyone else this comes up with, Crostini uses something Google cooked up called "sommelier" to interface between Xorg apps and Wayland (Linux display servers).

You can mess around with adjusting the scaling/DPI. For example:

sommelier -X --scale=0.5 --dpi=150 xterm 

Would result in an okay readable xterminal. But, most of the time it's easier to fine an alternative, For example, you could install gnome-terminal or konsole.

The above values aren't a one-size fits all solution. Some apps look better when you have the DPI set to 200. Others you may want to scale to 1.0 or 1.5. It takes a bit of trial and error.

i used rxvt-unicode. I changed .Xdefaults and set 
URxvt*font: xft:Bitstream Vera Sans Mono:pixelsize=34
