Why is my mouse lagging when pixelbook Go is docked? 0 Recommended Answers 11 Replies 1 Upvote

I just purchased a Pixelbook Go intel i5 256/ 16mb. It works great on its own, but I mostly work with a connected docking station. When docked the mouse is REALLY laggy. It renders the device useless. I have tried four docks/hubs and two mice. I have also tried adjusting the nightlight as I have read that can help. No matter what the nightlight setting, it only seems to work ok at night and before 8am. Any ideas?

Hi Matt,

Does the built-in touchpad also lag when connected to the dock? What (if any) other devices are connected to the docking station in addition to the mouse? Any change if you only connect the mouse (and Pixelbook Go) to the dock - no external monitors?

Testing in these different combinations might help to narrow down the scope of the issue so that we can figure out what's going on.

Also, can you tell us the manufacturer and model of the dock(s) you're using, as well as the details regarding any connected displays?

Thanks!
John

Thanks for the response. I attempted trying one connection at a time, and everything works until I plug the sub dongle in for the mouse. Even then, the track pad still works great. IN addition to the mouse/keyboard, I have ethernet, a printer, and a monitor (ACER G227hql) connected. I have a formal ticket with Google Support, but below are the specs.

I have tried the following Docks
Wavlink WL-UG69PD2
Insignia - 7-Port Type-C Hub with Gigabit Ethernet Adapter Model:NS-PUCHUB219
Targus - USB Type-C Docking Station - Silver Model:ACA963BT

I have tried the following mice:
Logitech M510
Logitech M355

Thanks for the information.

It sounds like the M510 requires the USB dongle while the M355 can connect using the dongle or Bluetooth, is that correct? If so, have you tried connecting the M355 directly via Bluetooth (bypassing the dock) to see if that makes a difference?

Do you have a USB A-to-C adapter handy? I've picked up a collection from various Pixel phones over the years. If you've got one, try using it to connect the mouse's USB receiver directly to the Pixelbook Go (again, bypassing the dock).

Have you tried any traditional wired mice?

I did try the bluetooth and same thing occurs. No access to usb a to c adapter.

I wish that google made a dock with needed cables or at least endorsed a particular setup.

Thanks,

I have a Blitzwolf hub that works with M705 and M510 mice, both of which use Logitech's Unifying receiver.

Do you get the same lag with the M355 connected via Bluetooth and the dock not connected?

Am I understanding correctly, that you are using an ethernet connection?

If so, have you tried turning off WiFi? The wireless dongles use 2.4 GHz, so there could be some sort of odd interference with wifi.

If you have a WiFi router, check the channel that it uses for the 2.4 GHz band. Make sure that you only use channels 1, 6, or 11. The other channels can cause interference.

Yes, I tried that too. I have now hooked up my very old toshiba dynadock and plugged the usb a connector cord into pixelbook by using a usb-c adapter. So far it seems to be working much better. But I still would like a 4K dock so may try one of the startech line.
