Surface Arc Mouse Scroll Stops Working Every few Minutes 3 Recommended Answers 29 Replies 22 Upvotes

I've used the Surface Arc mouse with my Pixelbook for more than a year. Up until recently, I haven't had a problem.  Here are the details of my issue:

  1. Connect via Bluetooth.
  2. Mouse, including touch-based scroll work fine.
  3. After 3-5 minutes, I lose the ability to scroll inside of any windows using touch-based scroll.
  4. If I turn Bluetooth off and back on the problem persists.
  5. If I turn the mouse off and back on the problem persists.
  6. If I disconnect from the mouse in Bluetooth settings, and then reconnect the problem persists.
  7. If I "remove the device" completely from Bluetooth settings, rediscover it and connect, the problem is resolved for another 3-5 minutes.

I am on version 76.03809.77, but the problem seems to have been happening for the last few releases (at a minimum).

Hi Dan,

The best thing would be to try seeing if the Stable channel works ok.

Before you do, please send feedback directly to the team about this via Alt + Shift + i and consider filing a bug for it via crbug.com where you can track its progress.

Thanks. I filed a bug as suggested. I'll try going back to stable.

Hey Dan,

Did you ever get this fixed? I'm experiencing the exact same issue, and wanted to see if there is a solution before giving up and getting a different mouse.

Hey Dan and Karina,

When the Arc Mouse touch-scroll stops working, does the mouse still generate the haptic pulses (indicating that it's detecting the scrolling gesture)? Or does it stop working entirely?

I'm going to get some fresh batteries for my Arc Mouse and do some testing later today but I'd like to know more about the failure behavior.

Thanks!
John

Edit: adding in the crbug so that I can find it easier later - thanks for creating that, Dan.

I am having the exact same issue as the origonal poster described. To quote the original post:

  4. If I turn Bluetooth off and back on the problem persists.

I am on a pixelbook go base model, Version 79.0.3945.123 (Official Build) (64-bit).

Microsoft Arc Mouse 2.

Replacing batteries does NOT resolve.

No haptic feedback on scroll either.

Amazing mouse, would be great if it would work with the pixelbook, it matches the style and folds nicely for portability.
