Search the web on Chrome

You can quickly find what you’re looking for on the Internet, in your bookmarks, and in your browsing history.

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. In the address bar, type your search.
  3. Tap the result, Go, or Continue Continue.

Tip: As you type, you may get suggestions based on your web and app activity. You can delete individual suggestions from your search history or hide sections of suggestions based on your activity when they appear. Learn more about your activity.

Search within a webpage

You can find a specific word or phrase on a web page on your Android device.

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. Open a webpage.
  3. Tap More Moreand then Find in page.
  4. Type your search term.
  5. Tap Search Search.
  6. Matches are highlighted.You can see where all the matches are located on a webpage using the markers on the scrollbar.

Search words on a webpage

You can find more info about a specific word or phrase on a webpage.

Google must be set as your default search engine to use Touch to Search.

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome appChrome.
  2. Open a webpage.
  3. Tapany word on a webpage to highlight it.
  4. Tap on the panel that shows up on the bottom of the page. You’ll see search results for the words you highlighted.

To turn off Touch to Search:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome appChrome.
  2. Tap More Moreand then Settings.
  3. Tap Sync and Google servicesand thenTouch to Search.
  4. Turn off Touch to Search.

Search the web with images

You can learn more about an image with Google Lens. For example, you can use a picture of a plant to search for more info about the plant to search for more info about the plant and find similar images.

Before you start:

To learn more about an image:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. Go to any site with the image you want to learn more about.
  3. Touch and hold the image.
  4. In the context menu, tap Search with Google Lens.

Search copied images from the web

You can find more info about an image copied to your clipboard from a webpage.

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. Touch and hold an image on a webpage.
  3. Tap Copy image.
  4. Tap the address bar. You'll find the copied image as a search option.
