Take a screenshot of all or part of your Pixelbook screen. Screenshots save as an image file in your “Downloads” folder.

Laptop mode

With a keyboard, you can take a screenshot of your entire screen or a portion of the screen you select.

  • Entire screen: Press Ctrl + Show all windows in Overview mode.
  • Partial screen: Press Ctrl + Shift + Show all windows in Overview mode.

Tablet mode

  • Entire screen: Press Power button + Volume down button.

Use your Pixelbook Pen to take a screenshot of your entire screen or a portion of the screen you select.

Entire screen: 

  1. In the bottom right, select Pen Stylus.
  2. Select Capture screen.

Partial screen:

  1. In the bottom right, select Pen Stylus.
  2. Select Capture region.
  3. Using your pen, touch the screen where you want to start your screenshot. Then, drag it across the area want to capture.
  4. Lift the pen to finish taking the screenshot.

View, share, or annotate your screenshot

Once you take a screenshot, it’s automatically saved to the “Downloads” folder in the Files app Files.

You’ll also see a notification in the bottom right of your screen with a preview of your screenshot and these options for next steps:

  • Show in folder: This option takes you to the screenshot selected in the “Downloads” folder of the Files app Files.
  • Copy to clipboard: This option copies the screenshot to your clipboard so that you can paste it into a document, email, or other valid field.
  • Annotate image:  This option opens the screenshot in Google Keep , where you can use your finger or Pixelbook Pen to add notes or other markings to the screenshot. Your screenshot will save as a note in Google Keep, which you can share, use in a document or presentation, and more.
