Google Meet notifications aren't working

If you're not getting Google Meet notifications or they're delayed on Pixelbook, try these tips to fix the problem.

Try common fixes

  • Re-open the app: To start Google Meet again, quit and re-open the app.
  • Download the latest version of the app: Check that you have the latest version of Google Meet for Chrome OS. If you don't, the page will say "Update."
  • Connect to Wi-Fi: Make sure your Wi-Fi is on.

Update notification settings in Chrome

If you have turned off notifications for Meet, you can turn them back on.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More and then Settings.
  3. Under 'Privacy and security', click Site settings.
  4. Click Notifications.
  5. Select the Meet entry and click More More and then Allow. For example:
    • Meet – https://meet.google.com:443

Allow Meet notifications in other browsers

If you use other web browsers for Google Meet, you must turn on notifications for that product in your browser. Each browser requires different steps to turn on notifications. Check online help for your browser for more information.
