Turn "OK Google" on or off

You can talk to your Google Assistant by saying "Ok Google." 

If you turn off "Ok Google," you can still talk to your Google Assistant by pressing the  Launch assistant key key or touching and holding the Launcher Launch icon on your Pixelbook.

  1. Select the time at the bottom right.
  2. Select Settings Settings.
  3. Under “Search and Assistant,” select Google Assistant.
  4. Select Google Assistant settings.
  5. Under “Devices,” select Chromebook.
  6. Next to “Access with Voice Match,” tap the toggle to turn voice recognition on or off. 

Teach your Google Assistant to recognize your voice

If your Google Assistant isn’t responding to "Ok Google," try these steps:

  1. Select the time at the bottom right.
  2. Select Settings Settings.
  3. Under “Search and Assistant,” select Google Assistant.
  4. Select Google Assistant settings.
  5. Under “Devices,” select Chromebook.
  6. Select Voice model.
  7. Select Retrain voice model and follow the steps to record your voice.
