Charge your Chromebook Pixel

The battery on your Chromebook Pixel is designed to last for 5 hours of use, though battery life may vary based on usage and other conditions. To charge the battery, plug one end of the power adapter into the power port on the left side of your Chromebook and the other end into a power outlet.

When your Chromebook is plugged in, the charge indicator light on the adapter plug shows the status of your battery.

Color Status
Green Fully charged
Yellow Charging in progress
Red Charging error
(Unlit) Not charging

See how much power is remaining

The lightbar behind the display is a quick way to check how much power you have left. As you use your Chromebook, you can also click the battery icon in the lower-right corner of your screen to see how much power is remaining and how much time it’ll take to fully recharge the battery if your Chromebook is plugged into a power source. If you're running dangerously low on battery, you'll see a notification in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

If the charge indicator light on the adapter plug is red, indicating a charging error, this may be caused by an improper connection. Try unplugging the adapter from the power port and plugging it back in. If it continues to show red, contact our support team.
