Keyboard shortcuts let you do something quickly, like switch apps or add symbols not on your keyboard.
Tip: To access more symbols, press the hotkey . To access the emoticons, press the alt key.

General shortcuts
Quickly get around your Pixel C using these shortcuts.
Home | Opens Home. If you’re viewing a left or right Home screen, opens the central Home screen. | Search |
Back | Opens the previous screen you were working in, even if it was in a different app. Once you back up to the Home screen, you can't go back any further in your history. | Search |
Overview | Opens a list of thumbnail images of apps you’ve worked with recently. To open an app, touch it. To remove a thumbnail from the list, swipe it left or right. | Alt + Tab |

Troubleshooting
If shortcuts don’t work, make sure your device is using the Pixel C keyboard in Settings.
- Go to the Settings app
.
- Touch Language & Input.
- Under “Physical keyboard,” choose Pixel C Keyboard.
- Try using the shortcuts listed above.
