Using RSS Feeds
Many websites use RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds to send updated content to their users. Feeds might include updates of daily headlines, top stories, new products, upcoming events, or other important information. When you subscribe to a Picasa Web Albums RSS feed using a feed reader, you'll receive a regularly-updated summary of new photos that have been uploaded. You can set up a feed for an entire Picasa Web Albums account or for an individual album within that account.
To subscribe to an RSS feed, follow these steps:
- Click the RSS link that appears at the bottom-right of the gallery or album page, or under the 'Link to this album' on the right side of an album page.
- Copy and paste the URL that appears in your browser's address bar into your third-party feed reader. The URL may look something like this: http://picasaweb.google.com/data/feed/base/user/rssUser?uname=username
- Copy the link location and include it in your feed reader.
If you don't have a feed reader, you might want to give Google Reader a try.
You can use photo feeds for many purposes, including to channel your Picasa Web Albums photos or other photo feeds into your Google Photos screensaver.
