Flat folder display: moving folders between collections

The flat folder view in Picasa displays your folders as part of larger collections. As opposed to the Tree view which displays your photos according to how they're arranged on your hard drive, the flat folder view is designed to organize your photos by how you use them in Picasa. For example, Picasa will group your folders into pre-defined collections such as 'Downloaded Albums,' 'Exported pictures,' 'Hidden folders,' or 'Projects.'

It's simple to move a folder to a new or existing collection. Please follow these steps:

  1. Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac) the folder you'd like to move.
  2. Select Move to Collection.
  3. You can either choose an existing collection or create a New Collection.

You can rename any collection that you've created. Simply right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac) the collection and select Rename collection.

Moving folders between collections has no effect on where your photos are stored on your hard drive.
