Cannot access Google photos from Android TV ambient mode
0
I have a Sony Android TV with built-in Chromecast. I cannot see Google photos from the Google home app on my Android phone for this device. I can see my Google photo albums on another cheap TV that has a Google Chromecast dongle plugged in. Why can't my fancy Sony Chromecast TV see the Google photo collection. I'm logged into both devices with the same Google account and I have access to other Google services. But ambient mode on the Sony TV does not allow me to select Google photos

Same issue as well. Can not find Google Photos as an option on the Ambient Mode Settings on the Home App.

Multiple to tweets with this issue as well, but absolutely no reply from Google Photos, or Ambient Mode Settings team for chromecast/built-in , or Home App.

I am having the same issues.  I have the XBR 800D with the latest Android TV updates and the latest Home app on my phone.  Have Google Photos in the account used for both the TV and the phone. Tried to reset and clear data on both the TV and phone app.  Still, "Google Photos" is not available as an option in Ambient Mode.

Seems they removed it as a security issue then never fixed the issue. Wish they would.
