Backing up photos is stuck on 7 and severely draining my battery. 0 Recommended Answers 1 Reply 0 Upvotes

I woke up this morning to finish backing up 266 pics at 6:24am EST. When I went back in 2 and a half hours later, it's stuck on the 7th last one and my phone despite being plugged in is draining massively. I'm at 34% from 100 when I took it off charge when I went to show my fiancé what happened 2 and a half hours ago. Usually 6 hours at school and I'm down to 40% not 34% in 2 and a half. What should I do? It's also heating up my phone. Don't judge but I have a Sony Xperia M4 aqua.

Momentarily put the phone in Airplane mode to disconnect. Then...

Long press on the Photos app icon. Select the (i) info icon and then select Force Stop.

Locate the image that it was stopped on. Is it excessively large or corrupted? Decide if you can delete the image or if you really need it backed up.

Also see if it is a burst image. I accidentally created what I thought was one image, but it was a burst containing dozens upon dozens of smaller bursts. I selected the one that I liked, deleted the rest and proceeded with the backup.

After isolating the problem images, restart your phone, take it back off Airplane mode, reconnect to  good Wi-Fi or sufficient cell data, and see if the symptoms improve.
