Get started with Google Photos

Learn how to view and edit your photos.

View photos & videos

  1. Open the Google Photos app.
  2. At the bottom, tap Photos.
  3. You should see your photos and videos. Try scrolling down to see more.

Edit photos

You can do things like add filters, and crop or rotate photos.

  1. Open the Google Photos app.
  2. Tap the photo that you want to edit.
  3. Tap the Edit icon. Choose what to do:
    • Tune: Automatically adjust colour and exposure, manually change lighting, manually adjust colour or add effects.
    • Filter: Add or adjust a filter.
    • Crop: Crop or rotate.

Tip: While you're editing, you can touch and hold the photo to compare your edits to the original.
  4. At the top, tap SAVE.

Your edits will be shown on a new copy of the photo. Your original, unedited photo will also be in your Google Photos account.

Undo edits

If you edit a photo, your edited version becomes a new copy of the photo.

If you don't like the edits that you've made, you can delete the edited version. Your original photo will still be in your Google Photos (unless you deleted it).
