Use Google Photos on your TV

You can view your memories, watch photo slideshows, and search your photo library with Google Photos on your smart TV. You control what photos and videos can be displayed on your smart TV.

To use this feature, you need a device that works with this feature. Here are some brands that do:

  • Samsung TV
  • Google TV

Use Google Photos on Google TV

On Google TVs, you can use Google Photos features like:

Create a screensaver from Google Photos

You can create a screensaver from your recent highlights, favorite photos, or any Google Photos album.

  1. From the Google TV home screen, select Settings Settings and then System and then Ambient mode.
  2. Select Settings and then Source.
  3. From the list of screensavers, select Google Photos.
  4. Verify your identity. You can:
  5. Select the albums you want to use.
  6. Select Confirm.
Search your Google Photos

Important: You can only search your Google Photos if:

  • You have Gemini-enabled devices.
  • You’re in the US.
  • Your language is set to English.
  • You’re 18 or older.
  • You have a Google Photos account.
  • "Personal results" is turned on in Settings.
    • To turn on “Personal results:”
      1. Go to All Settings and then Privacy and then Voice assistant.
      2. Turn on Personal results.

In summer 2026, Google Photos Search will roll out to more countries and languages.

To find specific people or favorite moments in your Google Photos library and see them on your TV:

  1. Press your remote’s microphone.
  2. Ask Gemini to show you specific photos.
  3. Select a photo to view full-screen, start a slideshow, or edit with Google Photos Remix.
Style your photos with Google Photos Remix on Google TV

Google Photos Remix on Google TV is an experimental feature that uses generative AI.

Important: You can only use Google Photos Remix on Google TV if:

  • You have Gemini-enabled devices.
  • You’re in the US.
  • Your language is set to English.
  • You’re 18 or older.
  • You have a Google Photos account.
  • "Personal results" is turned on in Settings.
    • To turn on “Personal results:”
      1. Go to All Settings and then Privacy and then Voice assistant.
      2. Turn on Personal results.

In summer 2026, Google Photos Remix on Google TV will roll out to more countries and languages.

With Google Photos Remix on Google TV, you can easily apply fun, new styles to your photos such as watercolors and oil painting styles.

  1. Press your remote’s microphone.
  2. Ask Gemini to show you specific photos.
  3. Select a photo.
  4. For options, press the down button.
  5. Select Remix.
  6. Choose a style.
  7. Select Generate and then Save to Google Photos.

Tip: Limits apply to the number of photos and videos you can create daily. Learn more about daily limits.

Access Google Photos on Samsung TV

On Samsung TVs, you can view your Google Photos memories in “Daily+” and “Now brief.”

Connect to smart TVs
During device setup or on your device, select Google Photos Photos.
  1. With your mobile device, scan the on-screen QR code.
  2. Select your Google Account.
    • If you aren’t already signed in to at least one Google Account, you need to sign in.
  3. Enter the code that appears on your device.
  4. To allow the device access to your Google Account, tap Allow.
Manage memories
You can access your Google Photos memories directly on your compatible TV. You have control over what memories will appear.
  1. On your smart TV, open Google Photos Photos.
  2. At the top right, select Settings and then Manage memories.
  3. Scan the on-screen QR code to choose the memory types that appear across all your devices, including this TV.
    • You can hide specific people, pets, or dates from highlights.
  4. Use your TV remote to pause a specific photo or skip forward and backward through the memory gallery.
    • When you browse memories, you can immediately hide a specific one. To hide it from your view, at the bottom, select Hide .

Tip: To find more memories, make sure you back up your photos and videos.

Manage your privacy & control
To make sure you display only the photos and videos you want, you can customize your experience.
  1. On your smart TV, open Google Photos Photos.
  2. At the top right, select Settings and then Privacy settings.
  3. Select a mode:
  4. Select Save.
Disconnect smart TVs
  1. On your smart TV, open Google Photos Photos.
  2. At the top right, select Settings and then Profile picture or Initial.
  3. When the confirmation prompt appears “Disconnect from Google Photos on this TV,” select Disconnect.

Tip: To manage Samsung TV memories, use the Google Photos mobile app. Find “Memories preferences” instead of the “Photo frames” menu on the TV.
