Title suggestion is an experimental feature from Google Labs that uses generative AI to help you customize your memories. This experimental feature won't always get it right, and may suggest inaccurate or inappropriate titles that don’t represent Google’s views. When you leave feedback, you can help improve titles for everyone.

Before you start

To use title suggestions, you must:

Be 18 or older.
Be in the United States.
Have your Google Account language set to English (United States).

To ensure suggestion quality, this feature is initially intended for users who have turned on Face Groups and Estimate missing locations. These requirements are subject to change.

To generate more relevant and helpful title suggestions, Google Photos may use the location where your photos were taken. Learn more about location in Google Photos.

Terms of Service

You agree that your use of title suggestions is subject to the Google Terms of Service and the Generative AI Additional Terms of Service.

Title suggestions are currently available in most locations in the United States.

Turn suggested titles on or off

You can turn suggested titles for your memories on or off at any time.

On your Android device, open the Google Photos app .
At the top, tap your Profile picture or Initial.
Tap Photos settings Preferences AI features by Labs.
Turn Help me title on or off.

Get suggested titles for your memories

Important: This feature is only available in the US.

On your Android device, open Google Photos .
At the bottom, tap Memories.
Next to the memory you want to customize, tap Help me title .
- If the memory already has a title, touch and hold the title, then tap Help me title .
Tap a suggestion.
- To edit a suggestion: Tap Edit .
- To get more suggestions: Tap More ideas .
- To add details or corrections: Tap Add hint .
Optional: To send feedback about an inaccurate or inappropriate suggestion, at the bottom, tap Send feedback.

Tip: Not all memories are eligible for title suggestions.
