A boleto bancário, or boleto, is an official form of payment regulated by the Central Bank of Brazil that uses vouchers to pay. Instead of directly paying for a good or service online with cards or bank accounts, you can create a boleto to pay with cash, or more securely with a card.
Note: You need a valid credit card to pay with boletos.
How it works
When you choose boleto as a form of payment, a boleto is created for your transaction and is sent to your email. The boleto has a barcode and includes your transaction information, such as bank information, transaction amount, your customer information, and an expiration date. When you’re ready to pay the boleto, you can take it to any location that processes boletos or process it online yourself.
After your payment is approved, your boleto transaction is complete.
Note: Make sure to pay your boleto before its expiration date. If you pay a boleto after the expiration date has passed, you may be charged a late fee or the transaction may not process at all.

Delays
Though you can pay boletos in real time, there may still be some delays when you choose boletos as a form of payment. Depending on when the boleto’s expiration date is set, it may take anywhere from 3 - 15 days to complete a purchase. After payment is complete, it may take up to one business day to process your boleto transaction.
