Link a developer account to payments profile

Google Play developers must set up a payments profile in the Google payments center in order to sell apps and in-app purchases. After you create a payments profile, you can manage app sales, view sales reports, receive payments on those sales, and more in your Google Play Developer Console. After you create a payments profile it is automatically linked to your Developer Console.

Note: If you've set up a payments profile or merchant account previously, it's already linked to your Developer Console.

To link your Developer Console with your payments profile:

  1. Sign in to your Google Play Developer Console.
  2. Click Settings  > Account Details.
  3. Under “Merchant account," click Set up a merchant account. You will be redirected from the Developer Console to the payments center to set up your payments profile. Make sure to have your business information available to set up your payments profile.
  4. Enter your business information.

You have now created a payments profile and linked it to your Developer Console. You'll need to make sure your apps are sold using the proper tax for your location.

If you aren't located in any of the supported locations for developersand don't own the required bank account for receiving payments, Google may not be able to pay for the sales in that account by any other means.

You can only link a Developer Console to one payments profile. After the accounts are linked, they can’t be removed, changed, or updated. If you need to remove or update linked accounts, you’ll need to sign up for a new developer account, pay another registration fee, and transfer any existing apps to your new payments profile.
