Report incorrect charges

If you see charges on your payments profile you don’t think you made, try the following.

1. Find out where the charge came from.

When you buy a Google product or service, charges that show up in your bank account will look like:

  • GOOGLE*Merchant Name
  • GOOGNFC*Merchant Name

If the charge is from somewhere else, contact your bank.

2. Double-check common issues.

Below are some common issues that are often mistaken for incorrect charges.

Shared cards and accounts

Check to see if family or friends who have access to your card or account bought something.

Canceled orders

If you canceled an order recently, you might still see a pending charge. The amount will disappear after a short period of time.

Duplicate charges

With some purchases, you might see a pending authorization in the same amount as the charge. It should disappear within a few days.

If you still think you were charged twice for something, sign into Subscriptions and services and check your orders for duplicates.

Recently added payment methods

When you add a payment method to your payments profile, you might see a small pending transaction on your bank statement. This is temporary authorization you won’t be charged for.

3. Report an unauthorized charge

If you still think the charge is fraudulent, contact us.
