A Spot Code is a Google branded visual code that works similar to a QR code but is unique to Google Pay India. You can share and scan a Spot Code to find a peer or a Spot. To use a Spot Code, you must have the latest version of Google Pay installed on your device.
You can use Spot Code to:
- Make payments.
- Share your profile with others when they scan or take screenshots of your code.
- Share microapps.
Scan Spot Code
Since Spot Code is unique to Google Pay India, you can only scan it with a Google Pay scanner.
- On your mobile device, open the Google Pay app .
- At the top right, tap your Profile picture.
- Tap Code scanner.
- Scan the other person’s code.
Share your Spot Code
Important: Spot Codes can only be scanned with the Google Pay code scanner.
- Open Google Pay .
- In the top right, tap your avatar.
- Tap your Spot Code.
- Have people scan the code with their Google Pay scanner.
Tip: You can also send people a screenshot of your Spot Code.
Find a peer or Spot by scanning a Spot Code
Important: Spot Codes can only be scanned with the Google Pay code scanner.
- Open Google Pay .
- In the top right, tap your avatar.
- Tap your Spot Code Open code scanner.
- Scan a Spot Code and follow the on-screen instructions for completing a transaction.
