Manage your job applications

You can browse and apply for jobs, then check in on each application’s status to keep track of your job search.

Important: To get the most out of the Jobs Spot, make sure that you update your Google Pay app to the latest available version.

Browse and apply for jobs

Important: To increase your chances of being selected for a job, make sure that your profile information is as complete and up to date as possible.

  1. Open the Google Pay app Google Pay.
  2. Under 'Businesses', tap Jobs.
    • If you can’t find 'Jobs', use the search bar at the top to search for: Jobs. Then, tap the Jobs Spot.
  3. Under 'Jobs near me', find jobs to which you’re interested in applying.
  4. Tap a recommended job.
  5. Review the job details.
  6. If you’re interested in applying for the job, tap Apply.
  7. To submit your application, tap Apply now.

After you submit an application, you can browse for more jobs, update your profile or review your application.

Check an application's status

To find job applications that you submitted:

  1. Open the Google Pay app Google Pay.
  2. Under 'Businesses', tap Jobs.
    • If you can’t find 'Jobs', use the search bar at the top to search for: Jobs. Then, tap the Jobs Spot.
      • If you’re a new user, answer the 3 questions that appear. Then, move on to step 3.
      • If you’re a returning user, move on to step 3.
  3. At the top right, tap your profile image.
  4. Tap Job activity.
  5. Find the job that you want to check on.

Tip: Your job applications are organised by their current status, including 'Applied', 'Interview invitations' and 'Job offers'.

What each application status means

To find out what each status means for your job application, check the table below:

Application states Descriptive text Next step
Applied X days ago You applied to the job X days ago and there have been no other updates. If you wish to cancel your application, click the 'cancel' button.
Not selected for interview You applied to the job but were not selected for the interview. Continue applying to other job opportunities that are recommended for you.
Invited. Response needed You applied to the job and were invited to the interview! You must accept the interview invitation to be officially scheduled on the interview roster. Once you accept, you are expected to attend the interview.
Declined interview You applied to the job and were invited to the interview, but chose not to accept the interview invitation. Continue applying to other job opportunities that are recommended for you.
Not selected for job The employer did not select you for the job. Continue applying to other job opportunities that are recommended for you.
Interview in X days You are currently on the interview roster and expected to attend the interview. If you cannot attend the interview or wish to cancel, click the 'cancel' button at least 24 hours prior to the interview to avoid an impact to your interview attendance rate.
Missed interview You were scheduled for the interview but failed to attend. Your interview attendance rate in your profile will be affected. Next time, make sure that you click 'cancel' at least 24 hours prior to the interview if you are unable to attend.
Interviewed X days ago You attended the interview and are awaiting a decision from the employer. Hang in there! The status will update when there are changes made to your application by the employer.
Interview passed. Waiting for next steps. You passed the initial interview! You are now awaiting a decision from the employer. Hang in there! The status will update when there are changes made to your application by the employer.
Waitlisted. Waiting for next steps. You are awaiting a decision from the employer. Hang in there! The status will update when there are changes made to your application by the employer.
Offered The employer offered you the job! You must accept or decline the job offer in the app.
Accepted. The employer offered you the job and you accepted! Check out the learning resources recommended for you in the home page to help prepare for your first day!
Declined offer The employer offered you the job but you declined. Continue applying to other job opportunities that are recommended for you.

 

Respond to an interview request or job offer

Important: To be scheduled for an interview, you must respond to the request sent by the employer. If you don’t respond at all, it will harm your chances of being selected for interviews in the future.

If the employer is interested in your application, they can request an interview with you. You’ll receive an SMS message and email to notify you of a new request.

  1. Open the Google Pay app Google Pay.
  2. Under 'Businesses', tap Jobs.
    • If you can’t find 'Jobs', use the search bar at the top to search for: Jobs. Then, tap the Jobs Spot.
  3. At the top right, tap your profile image.
  4. Tap Job activity.
  5. Find the job application that you want to respond to.
  6. Tap Respond.
  7. Review the interview or job info.
    • To confirm an application or scheduled interview:
      1. Tap Accept.
      2. To confirm, tap OK.
    • To cancel an application or scheduled interview:
      1. Tap Cancel.
      2. To confirm, tap Yes.
