Learn about gold on Google Pay

You can digitally buy and sell gold on Google Pay through MMTC-PAMP India Pvt. Ltd.

How it works

When you buy or sell gold through Google Pay, you purchase 99.99% pure 24 K gold units from MMTC-PAMP. Your gold is stored in a Gold Accumulation Plan (GAP) that MMTC-PAMP maintains for you by storing your gold in the physical form as a custodian as long as you own the gold. Gold purchases through MMTC-PAMP are 100% insured, ensuring your gold’s security.

What's your Gold Locker?

About the Gold Locker

Gold purchased or received on your Google Pay account appears in your Gold Locker. The Gold Locker is a visual, digital representation of your GAP account balance. From your Locker, you can view all your transactions, buy gold, or sell gold back to MMTC-PAMP.

Your Gold Locker is linked to your SIM and phone number. If you change your SIM or phone number, we may need to verify your identity to restore access to your account.

We may block access to your account if we detect unusual transactions, access with new login information, or a violation of our Terms of Service or user policies.

Troubleshooting

Google Pay can automatically sign you out in the event that certain suspicious activity is detected. For example, if you’ve recently changed your phone number or SIM card, Google Pay protects your gold by temporarily locking your Gold Locker.

To renew access to your Google Pay account, follow these steps:

  1. Open Google Pay. A screen appears that confirms a change in your access.
  2. Tap Continue.
  3. Fill out the Google Form survey that opens.
  4. After you complete the survey, Google updates your phone number to confirm your access. This update can take up to 2 days to complete.
