Secure your Google Pay account

To make Google Pay more secure, you will require a Google PIN to use the app. You can also link your Touch ID to your Google PIN.

Tip: Your Google PIN is different from your UPI PIN or the PIN you use to unlock your mobile device.

Choose how to secure your account

Tip: If Google PIN is active, you’ll need to be connected to the internet to open the app.

  1. Open Google Pay .
  2. At the top, tap your photo and then Settings and then Privacy & Security and then Security.
    • Select Use screen lock to use your existing pattern, PIN, fingerprint, or password that you use to lock your phone.
      Tip: Your fingerprint information isn't shared with the app. Learn more about Unlock with your fingerprint.
    • Select Use Google PIN to use Google PIN.

Change your Google PIN

  1. Open Google Pay .
  2. At the top, tap your photo and then Settings and then Privacy & Security and then Security.
  3. Select Use Google PIN.
  4. Tap Forgot PIN.
  5. Follow the instructions.
