You can pay for your e-challans in Google Pay. The payment is similar to payments of other bills like mobile, television, electricity, water, and gas.
Learn how to pay e-challan with Google Pay
Important: You can only pay one e-challan at a time.
- On your mobile device, open the Google Pay app
.
- Tap Pay bills
Traffic Challans payment.
- Select the challan issuer.
- Enter your vehicle number.
- Tap Continue.
- A list of pending e-challans displays.
- Select the e-challan you want to pay.
- Check the amount.
- You cannot edit it.
- Select your payment method.
- Bank account: No convenience fee.
- Credit, debit, and Rupay card: A convenience fee applies.
- Tap Proceed.
Associated fees for e-challan payments
You might encounter fees when you pay e-challan payments through Google Pay.
- Digital collection fee: The issuer adds this surcharge to the total challan amount, regardless of the payment method.
- GST: 18% GST applies to the surcharge fee.
- Convenience fee: The convenience fee that Google Pay charges depends on the payment method.
- Credit, debit, or RuPay card: A convenience fee applies. The fee varies based on factors including the payment amount. The exact fee displays at payment.
- UPI on Google Pay: No convenience fee.
Important: If your payment fails, Google Pay refunds the convenience fee and e-challan payment. The refund will be credited to your payment account within a specified time.

- On your mobile device, open the Google Pay app

- Scroll down to “Bills & recharges.”
- Tap e-challan issuer.
- Select Bill payment.
Troubleshoot problems with e-challan payments
Your payment failed but your account was debitedImportant: You can only raise a dispute within 90 days of payment.
- Find your payment and check its status.
- If the status says "Failed," you’ll find the refund timeframe.
- After the timeframe, check your bank account for the refund.
- If you haven’t received your refund:
- On your mobile device, open the Google Pay app
.
- Tap See transaction history.
- Select the payment.
- Tap Having issues

- On your mobile device, open the Google Pay app
Important: You can only raise a dispute within 90 days of making a payment.
- Find your payment and check its status.
- If the status says "Success," you’ll find the timeframe for the issuer to receive the money.
- After the timeframe, check with the issuer.
- If the issuer hasn’t received the money:
- On your mobile device, open the Google Pay app

- Tap See transaction history.
- Select the payment.

Important: If your e-challan transaction fails, wait for 2–3 days for a refund. Check your bank statement for your refund status.
To check your dispute's progress:
- On your mobile device, open the Google Pay app
.
- On the chat head or "Show transaction history" page, select Previously disputed payment.
- Check the status.
