Manage AutoPay

Get started with UPI AutoPay recurring mandates

You can set up flexible and automatic recurring payments on the Google Pay app with UPI AutoPay.

Learn about UPI AutoPay

You can set up recurring payments when you use any UPI application. You don't have to enter a PIN every time you make a payment.

You can set up periodic payments, such as:

  • Mobile bills
  • Electricity bills
  • EMI payments
  • Insurance
  • Mutual funds
Understand how recurring payments work

When you set up a recurring payment, you choose a frequency for funds to be debited from your account, such as:

  • Daily
  • Weekly
  • Monthly
  • Yearly

If your recurring payment is less than ₹15,000, you need to enter your UPI PIN to set it up for the first time.

If your recurring payment is more than ₹15,000, you'll need to enter your UPI PIN to approve each payment.

For recurring payments related to insurance, mutual funds and credit card bills, you need to enter your UPI PIN if the amount exceeds ₹1,00,000. You'll be asked to enter your PIN on the day that the payment is due.

Tip: If the payment doesn't go through within five minutes of your AutoPay mandate authentication, you may need to re-enter your UPI PIN.

Limit for a single debit
A maximum of ₹1 lakh can be debited in one transaction where you are required to enter your UPI PIN. Based on the merchant, this limit can be ₹2 lakhs.
Revoke a UPI AutoPay mandate
Once you have revoked a mandate, merchants can't debit the money from your account for that mandate. To revoke a mandate, you should enter your UPI PIN.
Debit notifications
Before your bank debits the amount, you'll be notified within 24 hours.
Receive a reward after you create a mandate
When your mandate is withdrawn, you'll be eligible to receive a scratch card based on the Terms and Conditions of the reward. Learn more about rewards.
Close your Google Pay account or delete your VPA
To close your Google Pay account or delete a VPA, you first need to revoke any live mandates.
Advance notification for an upcoming charge

You'll get a notification 24 hours before any debit from the bank. Tap the notification to view the details, where you can securely pause or cancel the mandate using your UPI PIN.

Tip: You won't get a 24-hour notification for automatic top-ups on your FASTag or NCMC (metro/transit) cards.
