How long it usually takes to send or receive money

Note: You can’t use credit cards to send or receive money. Find out more about which payment methods work with which features.

Transfer times vary depending on the type of payment method you use.

Transfer times

Debit card (fastest)

Money usually transfers from or to your debit card account quickly when:

  • You send it to someone.
  • Someone sends it to you and your debit card is set as your default payment method.
  • You manually transfer it to your debit card.

In some cases, you may not see the charge or credit on your account for up to 24 hours.

Bank account (can take longer)

When you send money using a bank account, your account will usually be charged quickly. In some cases, the money may not be taken out of your account for up to 5 business days.

When receiving, it usually takes 2-3 business days for money to transfer when:

  • Someone sends it to you and a bank account is set as your default payment method.
  • You manually transfer money to a bank account.
