Send or request money using your Google Assistant

You can send and request money with the help of your Google Assistant. 

Send money 

You can use your debit card or Google Pay balance to send money.

  1. On your Android phone, touch and hold the Home button or say "Ok Google."
  2. Say or type the amount and the contact you want to send money to, for example:
    • Send $15 to Sam for pizza
    • Send $15 to Sam
    • Send money to Sam
    • Pay John $40
  3. Check the money transfer.
    • If you want, change your payment method 
    • If everything is correct, say "Send now" or "Yes" 
  4. To verify the transfer, enter your Google Account password. You can also switch to using your fingerprint.

Cancel sending money

  • Before you enter your password, say "Cancel"
  • After you send money, you can cancel the transaction if the person hasn't received it. To cancel a transaction, go to pay.google.com or use the Google Pay Send app. 

Add or change your debit card

When you send money, your Assistant will use a debit card you have in Google Pay. You can add or change your debit card by going to:

Request money

  1. On your Android phone, touch and hold the Home button or say "Ok Google."
  2. Say or type the amount and the contact you want to request money from. You can also add a memo.
    For example, you can say:
    • Ask John for $15 for pizza
    • Request $15 from John
  3. Check the money transfer. If everything is correct, say "Request now" or "Yes."
  4. Enter your Google Account password. You can also switch to using your fingerprint.

See your history of sending & receiving money

To see money you sent and received using your Assistant, go to pay.google.com.
