See charges and transaction history

To get details on transactions and charges made using Google Pay in stores:

  1. Open the Google Pay app Google Pay.
  2. In the bottom right, tap Cards.
  3. Tap the card you used to pay.
  4. Find and tap your transaction.

Note: If you ever need proof of purchase, you may still need to show the receipt you got from the merchant. You won't be able to see your history of online transactions.

Stop showing transaction notifications

Whenever you pay for something using Google Pay, you'll get a notification on your device when the payment is done.

American Express cardholders: You'll also get a notification on your device if you pay for something using one of your physical cards stored in Google Pay. You'll only see notifications for cards you added to Google Pay.

To turn purchase notifications off:

  1. Open the Google Pay app Google Pay.
  2. Tap Menu Menu and then Settings and then Notifications.
  3. Switch "Purchases" off.

"Pending" transactions

Pending charges on Google Pay or your card statement are authorizations that haven’t been processed yet. Some pending charges are higher than the actual purchase price. This is a temporary hold and will be changed when the transaction goes through.

Example merchants and percentages:

  • Restaurants and bars 20%
  • Taxi and limo 20%
  • Hotels 15%
  • Car rental 15%
  • Cruise lines 15%
  • Health and beauty 20%
  • Gas stations $75.00 (min)
