In Japan, you can use Suica in Google Pay on your smartwatch to make contactless payments where Suica is accepted.
To use Suica on your watch, you must have a Google Pixel Watch purchased in Japan. You can use Suica on your watch even if your smartphone doesn’t support Osaifu-Keitai.
- For VISA Contactless and MasterCard Contactless, you must have a watch running Wear OS 2 or up. Learn how to tap to pay with your smartwatch.
Tip: Other Android watches aren’t supported at this time.
Create a new Suica card on your smartwatch
If you already have a Suica card on your phone, you can create a new Suica card on your smartwatch. You can also transfer your existing Suica card from your phone to your smartwatch.
- On your watch, open Google Pay

- Tap Add
.
- On your phone, follow the on-screen instructions to create a new card.
After you finish all the steps, a new Suica card is created on your watch.
Transfer existing Suica from phone to smartwatch
To transfer your Suica card from your phone to your smartwatch, upload your existing Suica card through the Osaifu-Keitai app's device transfer process.
Tip: If you have an existing Suica card on a device other than the one paired with your smartwatch, you first need to upload your Suica card through the Osaifu-Keitai app on your other device before you can add a Suica card to your smartwatch.
- On your device where you have an existing Suica card, open the Osaifu-Keitai app.
- Tap My Suica (Confirm/Switch the maincard).
- At the bottom, tap Upload card.
- On your smartwatch, open Google Pay
.
- Tap Add
.
- On your phone, follow the on-screen instructions.
- Tap the existing card you want to add to your smartwatch.
After you add the card, your Suica card is transferred to your smartwatch.
Transfer existing Suica card from smartwatch to phone
To transfer your Suica card from smartwatch to your phone, remove the Suica from your smartwatch first. If you remove Suica from the watch, your Suica is saved to the server automatically.
- Follow the Remove Suica from your smartwatch steps.
Tip: After you remove your Suica from your smartwatch and transfer it to your new device, you can retrieve your Suica balance. - On your phone, open the Osaifu-Keitai app.
- In the "Transit IC Card" section, tap Download transit IC card.
- Select Mobile Suica.
- A list of Suica cards available for transfer will show. Select the card you want to retrieve.
- To add your card in Google Pay, open the app on your phone and follow the on-screen instructions.
Add money to Suica on your smartwatch
From your watch
- On your watch, open Google Pay
.
- Tap Suica and swipe down.
- Tap Open on phone. The phone will automatically open the screen to the card detail page.
- On your phone, tap Add Money.
From your paired phone
- On your phone, open your Google Pixel Watch companion app.
- Tap Google

- Tap Add Money. The phone will automatically open the screen to the card detail page.
- On your phone, tap Add Money.
- Select the amount of money you want to add and tap Select card.
- Add or choose a payment method. See Supported payment methods.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Your card's balance will update.
Make a payment in store
- Go to a contactless reader that accepts Suica. See Supported payment methods.
- Look for the Suica logo

- Inform the cashier you want to pay with Suica.
- Hold your watch next to the reader. You don’t need to unlock it, wake it up, turn it on, or open the app.
- After your payment is successful, the terminal will make a sound.
Make a payment for transit
You can use Google Pay to pay for transit with your Suica card anywhere Suica is accepted.
To pay, hold your smartwatch to the terminal where you would normally put your card. You don’t need to unlock it, wake it up, turn it on, or open the app.
Remove Suica from your smartwatch
When you remove Suica from your watch, you won’t be able to use it for purchases with Google Pay. Your transaction history may also be removed. Your balance can be accessed from the Suica website or from another device after you transfer your card.
To delete the Suica, you’ll need to delete it from the Suica website. Learn more details at Suica website.

- On your watch, open Google Pay

- Tap Suica.
- Swipe down.
- Tap Remove from watch.
From your paired phone
- On your phone, open your Google Pixel Watch companion app.
- Tap Google

Important: If many transactions happen in a short amount of time, Google Pay may not show all your transaction details.
From your watch
- On your watch, open Google Pay

- Tap Suica.
- Swipe down.
- Tap Details.
From your paired phone
- On your phone, open your Google Pixel Watch companion app.
- Tap Google

- Under “Recent Activity,” tap See more.
Fix a problem
Can’t add a Suica card on smartwatch- On your watch, open Google Pay
.
- Choose the Google account you registered Suica with.
- Press add
.
- On your phone paired with your smartwatch, follow the on-screen instructions.
- Tap the existing card you want to add to your smartwatch.
If you have an auto top up setting on your Suica card on your phone, you can continue to use auto top-up even after you transfer Suica on your smartwatch. To change the setting, move your Suica card back to your phone and change the setting in the Mobile Suica app.
- On your watch, remove the Suica card.
- Transfer Suica back to your phone.
- Change the settings in the Mobile Suica app.
- From the companion app, open the Google Pay Suica card page.
- To find your Suica card number, scroll down.
- Prepare your Suica card number and contact JRE.
