Accept payments on Google Pay for Business

Google Pay for Business lets you accept payments from other Google Pay customers. You can choose to accept payment through Phone number or a personalized QR code.

You can find your PSP in your VPA or contact Google support.

How to accept payments

To accept payments, follow these steps:

  1. On your device, open the Google Pay for Business app.
  2. Decide how you want to accept payments.
Accept payments via QR code

To accept payments via QR code, follow these steps:

  1. Tap QR code. A QR code appears. Your QR code contains your bank account number and your bank's IFSC (Indian Financial System Code).
  2. Instruct your customer to scan your QR code.
    • You can also share or print your QR code.

How to use printed QR codes

After your business is approved for Google Pay for Business, a Google Pay agent prints your business’ personalized QR code and delivers a standee to your address. If you signed up yourself, you can request a QR kit delivery to your address through the app. Learn how to request a QR kit. You can also download your QR code from your mobile device and print out other copies for transactions.

To print your own QR code, follow these steps:

  1. On your device, open the Google Pay for Business app.
  2. Tap QR code.
  3. At the bottom, tap Download or share.
  4. Choose to either download an image of your QR code or share the image with the app of your choice.

The image that you downloaded or shared can now be printed and placed in your store.

Accept payments via phone number
To accept payments via phone number, follow these steps:
  1. Share your business' primary phone number with your customer.
  2. Instruct your customer to do the following:
    1. On their device, open the Google Pay app.
    2. In the "New" section, choose to pay by phone number.
    3. Enter your business' primary phone number. A list of business and individuals linked to the phone number appear.
    4. Select the business that you want to receive the payment.

When a customer pays you, a status message notifies you of an incoming payment. After you receive the payment, you'll get confirmation showing the amount paid, customer name, time, date, and reference number.

Fix QR code payment issue

There are a few reasons why you’re unable to accept payments with QR code:

Account issues:

  • This can happen if there’s an issue with your merchant’s account.
  • Check your email for notifications.

Transaction limits:

  • This can happen if you reach your daily or monthly transaction limits. Learn more about transaction limits.
    • You can check your transaction limits in the app:
      1. Click Profile.
      2. Select Payment Methods.
  • If you reach your limit:
    • If you haven't completed video verification and can find the option in the app, you can complete the process and increase the limit. Verify your business with video verification.
    • If you don’t find the option, you aren’t eligible.

Damaged QR code:

  • In a few cases, a physical QR code may become damaged.
  • Check the QR code for scratches, fades, or a broken standee.
  • If the QR code is damaged:
    • Contact support to request a new kit.
    • While you wait for a new QR kit, use the QR code from the Google Pay for Business app.
    • Use it directly from your phone or print it out.
