What is Daily settlement

Daily settlement means payments you accept throughout the day reflect as a single payment in your bank account at the end of the day. You can find the total settlement amount in your bank account by the next morning.

When you use Instant settlement for IMPS, payments instantly credit to your bank account.

What is NEFT

To facilitate the transfer of funds between banks, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) developed an electronic system called National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT). It's a secure, fast, and reliable system for fund transfers.

What is Instant settlement for NEFT

When you use instant settlement for NEFT, payments before 8 PM are credited within 30 minutes to 3 hours. Payments after 8 PM are credited to your bank account by 7 AM the next morning.

Why is the payment delayed even if the settlement type is instant

You’re on Instant settlement through NEFT. The change to NEFT is made on the backend for a better experience. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) supports this secure and reliable method.

Payments before 8 PM are credited within 30 minutes to 3 hours. Payments after 8 PM are credited by 7 AM next morning.

For every successful customer payment, you get a notification and SMS confirmation from your bank. For real-time updates, regularly check your bank account statement.

What is Settle now

The “Settle now” feature instantly transfers available funds from your Google Pay account to your linked bank account anytime. This on-demand option bypasses the automatic, daily settlement process that happens overnight.

Even if you don’t select the “Settle now” option in the business app, you get the amount in your bank after midnight. If you want to settle the money in case of emergencies, you can use “Settle now.” The option remains available.

Tip: You can tap Settle now up to 5 times a day.

How often can I use “Settle now”

If you want to settle the money in emergencies, use the “Settle now” option up to 5 times a day.

  1. On your device, open the Google Pay for Business app .
  2. Tap View all payments.
    • You'll find the list of payments.
  3. Select Settlements.
    • In the “Settlements” tab, you can find the details of each settlement, such as:
      • List of payments
      • Total amount
      • Deductions available.
  4. Above the list of payments, tap Settle now.

Tip: This feature is only available for the end of day.

What are the benefits of daily settlement over instant settlement

The payments you accept throughout the day reflect in your bank account as a single payment by the end of the day.

The benefits of daily settlement:

  • Reduces the number of passbook entries and bank notifications.
  • Provides more reliability compared to instant settlement. You won’t face temporary server downtimes that happen sometimes during the day.
  • Makes you eligible for SoundPod and available features like Loan. To immediately settle the money for emergencies, use the “Settle now” option.

Tip: You can tap Settle now up to 5 times a day.

  • You can easily go through your payments with the “View all payments” option.
  • To find the details of each settlement like the list of payments, total amount, and any deductions applicable, tap the settlement.
How can I switch back to instant settlement
  1. On your device, open the Google Pay for Business app .
  2. ​Tap Profile and then Advanced settings and then Settlement Schedule.
    • You can find your settlement type.
  3. Tap Instant settlement.
How long is the payment on hold

A specialist team reviews and holds your transaction for up to 48 hours. After the review, you receive the amount in your bank account through your selected settlement type.

For real-time updates, check your bank statement within this period. Sometimes, you don’t get SMS confirmation for the update.

Batch settlements FAQs

At what time of the day will my statement take place

If you choose daily settlement, payments collected within the day are credited after midnight as a total payment. You can find the settlement amount in your bank statement by the next morning.

Can I select between instant & daily settlements

You can change between instant and daily settlement options. To change the settlement type:

  1. On your device, open the Google Pay for Business app .
  2. Tap Profile and then Advance settings and then Settlement Schedule.
  3. Select Instant settlement or Daily settlement.
  4. Tap Save.
If my primary account fails, can my other account receive payment

Currently, only the primary bank account added to the Google Pay for Business app gets the settlement. Other bank accounts that aren’t selected as primary can’t receive the settlement.

Will the application display only the settled payments

The Google Pay for Business app displays 2 types of payments:

  • Settled payments
  • In-progress payments
Will the application have account-specific payment limit

Currently, there’s no account-specific payments limits in the application. If you have multiple businesses, these limits remain the same.

Where can I find the payments-related details

To find payments-related details:

  1. On your device, open the Google Pay for Business app .
  2. Tap View all payments and then Settlements.
  3. To find payments related details, select a payment from the list.

Scheduled settlements FAQs

What is scheduled settlement
  • Choose your time: You can select a specific payment cut-off time between 12 AM and 9 PM.
  • One-time instant settlement: If you need the money immediately, the one-time on-demand settlement is available once a day.
  • Clear timing: The Estimated Time of Credit (ETC) shows when your money is settled in your bank account after it's sent.
How can I schedule my settlements
  1. On your device, open Google Pay for Business app .
  2. At the bottom right, tap Profile and then Advance settings and then Settlement Schedule.
  3. Set a payment cut-off time between 12 AM and 9 PM.
  4. To confirm the new Settlement Schedule, tap Confirm.

Tip: Payments received in your chosen time are settled to your account on the same day by ETC.

How to manage the settlement time

You can change your preferred payment cut-off time anytime. If you change it multiple times in a day, the last selection applies to your settlements the next day.

How to use the on-demand settlement

If you immediately need money, you can request a one-time instant settlement. You can use this once a day.

  1. On the Payments home screen, tap Settle now.
    • You can find the available amount for settlement and the limit reminder.
  2. Confirm the amount.
  3. Tap Settle now.
    • Your money is instantly processed.
How can I switch to the default settlement and opt out of scheduled settlements

You can easily switch back to the default 12 AM settlement time. Confirm your choice in the app. If you go back to the default, your money should usually be in your bank account by 7 AM the next day.

  1. On your device, open Google Pay for Business app .
  2. At the bottom right, tap Profile and then Advance settings and then Settlement Schedule.
    • You can find an option to change back to the default 12 AM time.
  3. To confirm the default schedule, tap Confirm.
What to do if I'm unable to schedule settlements

  2. Tap Support and then Contact Us.
  3. Select your preferred language.
  4. Tap Get a call.
  5. Enter your name and phone number details.
