Google Opinion Rewards uses your Google Account country to determine which surveys you receive and what currency your rewards are issued in.
If your reward currency changed, Google Opinion Rewards updated your profile to match the country associated with your Google Account.
Google Account country vs. Google Play country
Your Google Account country can be different from your Google Play country or your current physical location:
- Google Account country: The country or region associated with your overall Google Account under Google's Terms of Service. Google Opinion Rewards uses this setting to determine your reward currency and survey eligibility.
- Google Play country: A separate setting inside the Google Play Store app that determines which store catalog you see and which currency your Google Play balance uses.
Important: Even if your Google Play country is set to your current location, Google Opinion Rewards issues rewards in the currency of your Google Account country. To redeem Google Play credits without currency mismatches, your Google Account country and Google Play country should match.
Check your Google Account country
If your Google Account country does not reflect where you currently live, you can review it and request a correction:
- Visit the Google Account country association page.
- Make sure you are signed in with the same Google Account you use for Google Opinion Rewards.
- Review the country currently associated with your account and follow the on-screen instructions if you need to submit a correction request.
Note: Country association updates are reviewed by Google and are not instantaneous. Once updated, changes may take a short time to appear in the Google Opinion Rewards app.

Users in the available countries who are over 18 years old are eligible.
If your Rewards country changes, your previously earned Google Play balance is not lost.
Here is what happens to your rewards when your country updates:
- Your previous rewards remain safe: Any Google Play credits you earned before the country change stay in your Google Play balance in their original currency.
- Why your app home screen looks different: Because Google Opinion Rewards is now set up for your updated country and currency, the app home screen only displays the balance for your current country's currency. Your previous profile balance will no longer appear on the app home screen, even though the credits remain in your Google Play account.
- How to view and spend your previous balance: You can view your balances in the Google Play Store app by tapping your profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Payment methods. Google Play balances remain linked to the country where they were earned. If your Google Play country changes back to that country in the future, your previous balance will become available to spend again.
