Nexus 7 (2012) Wifi OTA update to Lollipop created lag and very slow response

I received the OTA update to Lollipop.

The tablet was unusable due to lag.  Sometimes not responding for a minute.

Per other suggestions, I cleared the cache.

Also, removed several apps.

Nothing made a significant difference.

At times, it would still stall for a long time.

So, went back to the factory image of 4.4

Anyone else have a better experience with 5.0 and a Nexus 7 Wifi 16GB?

Yes, the OTA showed up to download as soon as it rebooted to 4.4 as well.

I got the same so updated now completely unusable and no way to revert back as im not technical like online instructions tell you to download to computer and add old kitkat that way. I am so disappointed as I need my tablet it has my work and college stuff on. Each time I try to do anything it freezes completely. I have a deadline this week.

I had the same issue.

I couldn't hit the "back" button and had to resort to always going to the "home" button to exit in and out of the app.

Also, when navigating through chrome, when i wanted to switch to the new tab I opened, i would have to let the tabs disappear before I could tap onto the new tab.  This would drive me insane because the notifications bar would be enabled instead of clicking on the tab I wanted to use.

And not to mention, the video issues with YouTube and chrome.

I am going to have to go back to Android 4.4.4 until these issues are fixed.

Jamie : Consider this hearsay, but I set Google Play to update apps only when I told it to. When a bunch of apps were queued up for update, it seemed like performance fell off a cliff. Once they were updated, performance seemed to return to "normal" (for Lollipop). Since apps are constantly being updated, my survival strategy was to remove almost everything. This greatly limited the utility of my N7, but at least it was (usually) usable, if only for a limited number of purposes.
