Phone stolen. Need to know if remote phone wipe was successful

Good Day,

Recently my phone was stolen and I used android device manager to remote wipe my phone. I only got the email that I requested the wipe. How will I know if the wipe was successful?

I was unable to locate my phone using android device manager but I noticed that it was last online the day after it was stolen (a day after I requested the wipe). Would it be guaranteed that it was wiped seeing that it was online after? I just need peace of mind because the phone had no lock screen and I am worried the thieves have access to my data/pics stored on the phone (a Nexus 5).

Is there any other way of ensure that the wipe took place? Is there any way I can email/contact Google so that I can have peace of mind?

Note: I am not sure if I ever set up the Nexus 5 for remote wipe previously. That is why I'm a bit worried. Please if anyone can help me. I just need to know

Regards,
Sid

Hi Faieeza. As far as I'm aware, you should have received an email confirming your request for a device wipe, stating the phone would be erased the next time it is connected to the Internet. I don't think you will get a confirmation that the wipe was actually carried out by Android Device Manager. I understand that you're worried and you could contact Google Support to see if there is any further information to put your mind at rest.

thanks for your response. when I try to contact google support through the link provided, next to the submit button there is a message "Phone support is currently closed. Please try again during business hours." So when exactly is business hours? I would like to contact them ASAP.

Hi Faleeza. I'm sorry that I can't answer your question as opening hours location dependent: for example, I'm in the UK (8.28pm) and Support is closed for me too. I can only suggest you keep trying during the normal business hours for your own location.

Regards, Penny
