Bluetooth Issues after accepting 8.0 Update

Hey All,

Some of you have been reporting Bluetooth issues after accepting the latest OTA update, Android 8.0 Oreo. We'd like to get some additional information so we can look into this more.

If you are experiencing issues since the 8.0 update, please include the following info (depending on where your particular issue falls):

Car/Auto

Year/make/model of your car
Issue/symptoms

Headphones

Brand of headphones
Issue/symptoms

Bluetooth Speakers

Speaker brand
Issue/symptoms

Feel free to include any other relevant information as well. I am going to start compiling patterns and I'll be reaching out to many of you privately for bug reports.

Note - This thread is not for Bluetooth issues that might be happening before the Android 8.0 update. If you have not yet received the OTA update, please refrain from posting in this thread until you have.

Thanks for all of your replies, and to those that sent over bug reports. The team is investigating, and the additional information has been extremely helpful.

I'll keep you all posted regularly on this thread with any other updates.

EDIT 9/7 - Thanks again to everyone for sharing details here, and to the many of you that shared bug reports. The team is working hard towards a fix. Due to the high number of duplicate reports, I am going to lock this thread for now. I'll be sure to let you know when there are any relevant updates.

Huawei Nexus 6p : Running Android Oreo 8.0 - I'm having issues with all of my Bluetooth devices and headphones .. I don't have a car, but I'm sure it's worth looking into ...
Bose , Bumpboxx , Soundboks 2 , DiamondBoxx XL , JBL , Samsung, Nexus, Dre Beats, LG .. just a list of my Bluetooth headphones and speakers connected to my Nexus 6P
" Skipping and Clipping sounds " like a record or CD that has a scratch on it or something type of sound ..
That's the best I can describe my personal experiences ..
Please Fix .. ( this problem doesn't exist with Android 7.1.2 ..

2011 VW GOLF - Nexus 6P

Bluetooth for telephone connects and works as normal, however media audio will not connect at all. Removing and readding the device doesn't seem to help the issue.

Car/Auto = DEH-4800BT

Nexus 6P running Android Oreo 8.0.0

Audio will play but every 20 minutes (approx) there are short skips in the music that lasts for about 1 or 2 seconds. I use Google Play Music to stream downloaded albums or I stream over mobile data.

This Issue is already present in 7.1.2

Currently running on an Nexus 5X with a Polar M200, the bluetoothconnetion is lost after a couple of days and only a reboot can fix it for the next couple of days.

Nexus 5x (Oreo) + JBL Charge 3, just disconnects after 3-10 seconds. Need to reboot for fix.

Pixel XL running Android 8.0

2016 Ford Focus ST & 2017 Ford Fusion, both with standard (non-touchscreen) Ford Sync system

Both stereo displays now show "unknown artist" or"unknown album" instead of the track data that used to appear before the 8.0 update.

Levels

Member levels indicate a user's level of participation in a forum. The greater the participation, the higher the level. Everyone starts at level 1 and can rise to level 10. These activities can increase your level in a forum:
