Project your Android device's screen

If you have a Chromecast, Nexus Player, or other device that can cast, you can project your phone or tablet's screen and audio to a TV.

Note: To use Chromecast with your phone or tablet, your device must be running Android 4.1 or up. See Chromecast system requirements and what version of Android you have.

Note: Some of these steps work only on Android 8.0 and up. Learn how to check your Android version.

Project your screen

  1. Open your device's Settings app Settings app.
  2. Tap Connected devices and then Cast.
  3. On the list, tap the device where you want to cast your screen.

Tip: On Android 4.1 to 6.0, Quick Settings includes Cast Cast. On Android 7.0 and up, you can add Cast to Quick Settings. Learn about Quick Settings.

Stop projecting your screen

  1. Swipe down from the top of your device's screen.
  2. On the Cast notification, tap Disconnect.
