Use Gesture Typing

With Google Keyboard, you can enter words by sliding your fingers from letter to letter and choosing the suggested words. This is known as Gesture Typing.

How to use Gesture Typing

  1. To open the keyboard, touch where you want to type.
  2. On the keyboard, slide your finger across the letters of the word you want. As you slide your finger, words will appear at your fingertip.
  3. To enter your word, lift your finger.
  4. To enter your next word, slide your finger across its letters. (You don’t need to touch the space bar between words.)

Replace words

To change a word you entered, touch it and then touch a word in the suggestion strip. You can also manually type changes.
