Policies for site changes

Along with our general, technical, and quality guidelines for Google News, we also have guidelines for changes made within the Google News Publisher Center. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in the removal of your articles, or entire publication, from Google News. We may also restrict your ability to edit the record of your site in the Publisher Center.

Accuracy: When making updates to the record of your site in the Google News Publisher Center (e.g. changing your site name), make sure that the changes are accurate and abide by our specific guidelines for these features.

Integrity: Avoid tricks intended to improve ranking or deceive our users. If you’re a subscription site or have content behind a paywall, follow our guidelines around applying structured data for subscription content so that we don’t interpret it as cloaking

Note that these guidelines cover the most common forms of deceptive or manipulative behavior, but Google News may respond negatively to other misleading practices not listed here.
